Danny and Joy with their 2 children, Corbin and Lindsey, moved to Mexico from Angelus Oaks in October of 2005 after attending language school in Costa Rica for 8 months. In May 2006 they moved onto the Rancho Casitas property. The VanNes family’s home church is Yucaipa Christian Church.

Steve and Sara Lee moved to Mexico from Yucaipa, CA in November, 2007. Then in October, 2008 moved to Rancho Casitas. They have 3 children, Nicole, Micah and Josiah. Nicole resides in Arizona with her husband Joel McCoy. The Johnson family’s home church is Yucaipa Christian Church.

Brian and Sue moved to Mexico in September of 2005. Brian and Sue live with 3 of their 5 children Cade, Colton and Shaina on the property at Rancho Casitas. Shirlee and Shelby are attending Biola University. The McCoy family’s home church is Trinity Church, Redlands.

Rick and Pat have three grown children and live in Redlands, CA. Rick serves as the President of Hands of Mercy, administers all of the US prebuilds and coordinates mission trips to Mexico with US church leaders. Rick is also integrally involved in the overseas ministries of HoM. Rick and Pat attend Trinity Church, Redlands.

Damaso is the pastor of Trinity Church in Las Flores, Mexico. He, along with his wife Esther, started the church in 2003 and have both been a vital part in the loft house ministry. Pastor Damaso helps choose the families in the communities that he serves and follows up with those that receive housing, inviting them to church and caring for their spiritual needs. Pastor Damaso is supported by Hands of Mercy as he builds his church and trains others to plant churches in the area.
Pastor Manuel came from the state of Oaxaca. He has been a pastor since 2004 after attending the Bible Institute of Ensenada. His church is in El Zorrillo where many loft houses have been built for migrants from southern Mexico. Pastor Manuel also plays a vital role in choosing loft house recipients and following up on their physical and spiritual needs. He and Ramona have 2 small children, Jose Manuel and Ismael and live behind the church. He is supported through Hands of Mercy by Red Mountain church in Arizona.
Laura currently resides in Redlands, CA. She has a B.S. in Accounting from the UABC and a Masters Degree in Finance from CETYS University, both in Baja California, Mexico.
Beginning in the fall of 2006, Laura began assisting Hands of Mercy at our home office in Redlands in the area of accounting and finances, bringing with her experience from the manufacturing industry. In November 2007 she joined the C.S. Lewis Foundation on a part time basis, and has been an integral part of our healthy relationship with the Mexican border officials that control our transport of loft-houses across the border into Mexico.
She has been a member of Trinity Church in Redlands since 2003, participating in the loft house ministry since its inception in 2001. She has decided to trust God and be used by Him as she comes on full time with Hands of Mercy.

Jennifer, 28 years of age, currently resides at Rancho Casitas, Mexico and serves as the school teacher for the missionary children. She graduated from Cal State San Bernardino and Chapman University with a BA in Liberal Studies and a Masters in Teaching. She has been teaching for the last 5 years. She has been a member of The River CRC in Redlands for the last 8 years. In addition to her school teaching duties, she is very involved hosting groups and helping build lofthomes on the weekends

Jennifer J. spent almost three years in Southeast Asia as a missionary working with a team of nationals and expatriates in church planting. She is currently in seminary and writing a Bible story curriculum to help churches and families in developing countries train their children in the story of God’s amazing, sovereign plan. She lives in Southern California and is a member of Trinity EV Free Church.
