Care Package Per Loft House
This is a list for the care package that accompanies each loft house for Mexico. Costco,
Sam’s Club, and any dollar store are good places to shop for food. Put all items except
for dust pan, broom, beans, rice and Ramen into an 18-20 gallon plastic storage container.
• 1 Can opener (a must have)
• 50 lbs. of beans and rice for each house
• 6 cans of vegetables (corn, mixed vegetables and/or green beans)
• 2 cans of jalapeño peppers
• 6 cans fruit (pineapple, peaches, guava and/or pears)
• 3 cans tomato sauce
• 4 cans tuna
• 2 cans sardines in tomato sauce
• 1 container salt
• 1 gal. oil
• 5 lbs. sugar
• 1 bottle dish soap
• 1 package of sponges
• 1 bottle of shampoo & conditioner
• 1 multi-package of tooth brushes
• 1 tube of tooth paste
• 3-4 bars of soap
• 1 lg. box matches
• 1 potholder
• 1 broom
• 1 dust pan
• 1 case of Top-Ramen
• 1 box of cookies or other sweet treats
• 1 large box powdered milk (add water)
• 1 18 oz of Oatmeal
• 5 lbs. Mexican wheat flour/harina (El Rosal, etc.)
• 5 lbs. Mexican corn flour (maseca)
ADDITIONAL ITEMS FOR EACH HOUSE:
• Spanish Bible
• *1 set of cast iron pans from harbor freight $9.00 (set of 3)
• 4 Curtain Rods, 30”-48” inch (expandable, if possible)
• 4 Sets of Curtains for the windows – 36” x 36”
• 2-3 Sets of Towels and Wash Cloths
• 2-3 Mattresses (if available)
• 2-3 Sleeping Bags (if available)
• 2-3 Blankets (if available)
