Passport Requirement???
On June 1, 2009, U.S. citizens returning home from Mexico by land were required by law to present one of the travel documents: U.S. Passport This is an internationally recognized travel document that verifies a person’s identity and nationality. It is accepted for travel by air, land and sea. U.S. Passport Card This is a new, limited-use travel document that fits in your wallet and costs less than a U.S. Passport. It is only valid for travel by land and sea.(NOTE – As of Oct 2010, it appears that US Border officials are still accepting drivers licenses and at least photocopies of birth certificates as a substitute for passports or passcards, but HoM cannot guarantee that won’t change) If you have questions about this call us at 909 499-6734.
